Children have the unique opportunity to work through problems and negative experiences before they reach life stages where these challenges may interfere with growth. Using proven play therapy techniques, I will work with you and your child to reach your family’s potential. This includes conducting a thorough assessment and developing a tailored treatment plan that addresses your child’s and family’s needs.
How does play therapy work?
While adults communicate using words, children communicate using play. As a play therapist, I’m trained to understand children’s play and facilitate activities that allow children to find solutions to their problems. I use play therapy techniques to help children practice new ways of approaching challenging situations and new ways of coping with negative feelings. While play can simply be lighthearted fun, it also can give children the ability to cope with challenging feelings and heal from overwhelming experiences.
